The news window is where the results from your turns, actions, and happenings in your kingdom show up. You can edit and write notes in your news and save it for later. There is a limit in how much news can be stored before some of it starts getting cutoff at the top.

Though the news window does have some nice features, it is pretty limited for storing news and information. If you want to store important news, notes, or information I would recommend copying your news to your favorite text editor or wordprocessing program.

1. Window - Descriptins of various parts of the window.
   
   
   • "Save News File" Button - This button saves what news you have recived so far so that when you leave the window, you won't lose anything you may have added or changes you have made when editing it. This does not create or download a news file to your computer.
   • "Delete All News" Button - Deletes all stored news.
   • Main Text Area - This is where your news shows up. You can edit, type notes, etc... in this window.
   • Scroll Bars - You use these to scroll though your news.
   
   
   
2. News Items - Here are a list of a couple of things you will see in your news.
   
   
   • Randoms - Randoms are weak spells that the server randomly casts on everybody. Once your kingdom gets past a certain point these don't have much effect on the normal running of the kingdom.
   • Turn News - This is the news of what happens from turn to turn. The first line displays what you accomplished with that particular action. The rest of the lines are described below.
     
     
     • Population/Income - This line displays how much your population and gold have increased or decreased during the turn.
     • Maintenance Costs - This displays how much your maintenance currently costs. If these are rediculouly high, either fire some of your military or build more barracks.
     • Food Produced - This displays how much food your kingdoms has made this turn.
     • Food Used - This line shows how much food your military and population has eaten this turn. CAUTION: This indicator is not a reliable way to see if you are producing enough food for your kingdom. Food does get wasted, and there is no indicator to show this at this time. The best way to keep track of whether you need to build more farms or not is to keep an eye on your Food Indicator at the bottom of the screen. If it goes up, your fine. If it goes down, you need more farms.
     • Mana - This line shows how much mana you gained this turn.
       
       
   • Attacks - The news also shows what the results are of your attacks on other kingdoms and attacks on your kingdom.
   • Spell Results - The news does show what your magic does on
   • Thievery/Spy/etc... - Often spy attemps, items being stolen, etc... show up in your new. Don't worry, it usually has to do with you catching and dismembering in gory detail of these trespassers.
